Our own home and garden represent our personal "romantic contemporary" style. We have endeavored to seamlessly integrate the residence with the garden so that our home truly "begins where the sidewalk ends." We currently are building a new studio garden. As our former studio indicates, this garden provides us with inspiration and functions as our laboratory. (See below.) New ideas, materials, or plants often are tested first in this setting before becoming part of our palette for design clients.

Pamela Berstler and Alex Stevens, co-owners of FLOWER to the PEOPLE, share garden homes and design studios in Mar Vista, California and Cape Cod, Massachusettes. Pamela and Alex are sustainable exterior designers and outdoor living experts who have designed award-winning custom residential projects throughout the United States.

Pamela Berstler, CEO, Design Principal

Since 1997, Pamela has guided our exterior design business by being dedicated to the principle that creating a sustainable garden is perhaps the most powerful individual political statement of the 21st Century. In addition to being a sought-after speaker and author, Pamela is the designer host of Discovery Channel's series Rally Round the House, and repeatedly has been the winning designer on HGTV's Landscaper's Challenge. Although Pamela has fond memories of gardening side-by-side with her mother and grandparents on their urban organic Pennsylvania property, her love of the earth was rekindled during her experience reclaiming her own Southern California garden. Building a design practice in Cape Cod has reinforced her dedication to zero-runoff, natural "urban wilderness" and sustainable design. Pamela is an active member of both the Association of Professional Ladscape Designers (APLD) and the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA). Pamela received her MBA in entertainment management from Anderson School at UCLA, and her BA in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Alex Stevens, Creative Director

Before joining *FLOWER to the PEOPLE*, Alex was an Art Director in the animation and video gaming industries and worked consistently throughout his career as a professional artist. Alex began his career as an illustrator, and he utilizes these skills as our Creative Director and prinicipal creative voice behind our work. Alex's extensive and diverse knowledge of architecture, product design, and construction allows him to educate clients about the potential hidden in their exterior environments as well as guide them toward design solutions that exceed their expectations. Alex is a member of the APLD. Alex studied illustration and painting at both the Massachusetts College of Art and Pratt Institute. When not rendering beautiful designs for our clients, Alex continues to pursue his interest in fine art by painting, creating political art, and developing original characters and stories for new animation projects.
